Island Health has added two Greater Victoria schools and a school in Errington to their COVID-19 exposure list.

Island Health has added two Greater Victoria schools and a school in Errington to their COVID-19 exposure list.

Dunsmuir Middle School — located on Painter Road in Colwood — experienced an exposure on April 27 and 28.

Ruth King Elementary — located on Jacklin Road in Langford — experienced exposures on April 27 and 28.

Errington Elementary — located on Fairdowne Road — experienced an exposure on April 22.

An exposure is defined by Island Health as a single person with a lab-confirmed COVID-19 infection who attended school during their infectious period.

Island Health says a child can continue to attend school if a parent or guardian does not receive a phone call or letter from public health.

The health authority says that should a parent or guardian see a notification on the Island Health school exposure site, it does not necessarily mean their child has been exposed to COVID-19.
