Human remains found on a rural property near Salmon Arm, B.C. have now been identified as those of missing Traci Genereaux.

The 18-year old’s death is being treated as suspicious.

RCMP say her family was notified on Wednesday.

Investigators are still trying to determine a timeline of Genereaux’s activities in the days leading up to and after Monday, May 29th.

That is when she was last reported to have been heard from in Vernon.

Genereaux is one of five women reported missing in the region around the rural property between Vernon and Salmon Arm over the past two years.

No charges have been laid in connection with her death.

Police say the search of the 24-acre property continues and that additional resources and equipment have been brought in.

One person who lives at the property faces six charges unrelated to Genereaux’s death.

Thirty-seven-year-old Curtis Wayne Sagmoen was arrested after allegedly pulling a gun on a sex trade worker near the rural property.

He is due back in court on Nov. 23.
