A Greater Victoria bus driver suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries, after an assault near the corner of Douglas Street and Hillside Avenue/Gorge Road East Thursday afternoon.
VicPD were called to the area just after 1:30 p.m. for a report of an assault. Police say the investigation is still underway but it appears the driver attempted to stop an altercation between two people on the bus.
Police said the suspect left the bus then assaulted the bus driver.
One man was arrested shortly after the incident.
The bus the driver was on was not equipped with CCTV.
