

Traffic was down to a single lane after a fatal crash on Highway 4 on March 22, 2019.
A man in his 70s has died in a three-vehicle collision on Highway 4, west of Whiskey Creek, on Friday.
Island District RCMP spokeswoman Cpl. Tammy Douglas said the crash occurred just after 12 p.m. on Highway 4 at Koen Road. RCMP did not release further details about the collision.

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed they have been called to the crash site and a man in his 70s died in the collision. The identity of the man has not been released.

A witness told CHEK News one air ambulance and two ambulances were at the scene of the crash.
The highway was closed in both directions at Koen Road, nine kilometres east of Cathedral Grove, for just over four hours. A single lane is now open to alternating traffic.
Drive BC said the highway is expected to reopen complete at 6 p.m.
