BC Ferries says it has secured a replacement vessel for the Salt Spring-Crofton route, but is now dealing with a lack of staff to operate it.
Crew has been secured to be able to run three sailings Monday afternoon, but the rest of the sailings remain at risk of cancellation.
#ServiceNotice #Crofton #VesuviusBay #Quinitsa We have sourced the required number of crew for the following sailings for today:

Sailings between Salt Spring-Crofton were cancelled earlier because the Quinitsa had a frozen throttle and motor due to the weather.
#ServiceNotice Due to low temperatures this morning, our rescue boat's throttle & motor onboard the #Quinitsa are currently frozen. As a result, the following sailings have been cxld:
6:00am/7:05am ex #Vesuvius
6:30am/7:40am ex #CroftonMore here: https://t.co/qn5b2TnTE8 ^jr

Other routes were also experiencing issues on Monday.
A vehicle incident on the causeway at the Duke Point terminal in Nanaimo caused a 7:45 a.m. sailing to be delayed by 37 minutes.
As a result of staffing shortages, the Baynes Sound Connector between Buckley Bay and Denman Island has multiple cancellations between 3 and 9:30 p.m.
#ServiceNotice As BC Ferries has been unsuccessful in securing the required number of crew on the #BaynesSoundConnector, the following sailings have been cxld:
3:00pm/4:00pm/9:30pm ex #BuckleyBay
3:40pm/4:40pm/9:10pm ex #DenmanIslandWest

The company also said it expected sailings out of Tsawwassen would be jam-packed and advised passengers to leave “plenty of time” to get to the terminal.
