BC Transit is reporting a handful of service interruptions Monday as snow descends on Greater Victoria, and more were expected due to an overnight dump of up to 20 centimetres.
BC Transit issued an advisory Monday saying that due to current weather conditions, some Victoria routes were detoured due to treacherous road conditions:
- Route 52 will stay on Metchosin as Lagoon Hill is not passable
- Route 54 will continue on Metchosin Rd and is not servicing Duke
- Route 55 is also not servicing Duke Road
- Route 59 will pass through Sooke, Happy Valley, Latoria and is not servicing Triangle Mountain
- Route 60 via Latoria, Happy Valley, Sooke but is not servicing Triangle Mountain
In addition to snow-related interruptions, the following routes were also rerouted due to a structure fire on Saanich’s Richmond Road:
- 14 UVic – from Richmond, left Lansdowne, right Shelbourne, right Cedar Hill Cross to regular route
- 14 Vic General – from Cedar Hill Cross, left Shelbourne, left Lansdowne, right Richmond to regular route
Transit passengers are asked to check BC Transit’s website for the latest cancellations and detours.
