The Nanaimo-Ladysmith School district says students and staff at Frank J. Ney Elementary School are indoors as a precaution following a cougar sighting.
District 68 posted on Twitter a cougar was spotted in the vicinity and BC Conservation has been called.

The school is located on Williamson Road, just off Hammond Bay Road.
