Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites will not be holding annual Canada Day celebrations this year due to COVID-19.

Canada Day celebrations at a popular attraction in the Greater Victoria Area won’t be happening this year.

Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites have cancelled annual Canada Day celebrations this year due to “ongoing measures” related to COVID-19, according to Parks Canada.

Parks Canada also said visiting Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse will be “different than it has been in the past” as all historic buildings are currently closed.

The causeway to Fisgard Lighthouse is also closed and Parks Canada is not offering any activities or programs.

People can still visit the National Historic Sites, however, in addition to the closure of facilities and the causeway, access to washrooms and parking facilities are also limited.
