RCMP arrest suspect accused of stealing from businesses in Sidney

An unidentified woman accused of stealing from businesses in Sidney was arrested by the Sidney/North Saanich RCMP and charged with two counts of theft.

A woman has been arrested after she allegedly stolen from two businesses in Sidney.

According to a Sidney/North Saanich RCMP media release, officers arrested an unidentified female on June 17 after a Beacon Avenue business reported that a woman had allegedly stolen items from their store.

Sidney/North Saanich RCMP then conducted an investigation and eventually determined that the woman had “stolen” from another business on Beacon Avenue.

RCMP credit the public with help in the investigation, adding that they were able to return numerous stolen items to both businesses.

Meanwhile, the female was charged with two counts of theft and released on the condition that promise to appear in court at a later date and that she not visit Sidney.

The female suspect was not a resident of Sidney, the release noted.
