Europe’s Best brand Field Berry Mixes have been recalled by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency nationwide following the discovery of a possible Salmonella contamination.

Two products from the brand, the Field Berry Mix and 4-Field Berry Mix, should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

Those who think they may have become sick from consuming the product are urged to contact their doctor.

The recall, issued on Friday, was triggered by a recall in another country. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of the products yet.

The federal agency says food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.

Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.

Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.

Hain Celestial Canada ULC, the firm responsible for the product, is a natural and organic company that offers multiple products from food to personal care.
