The death of a 37-year-old woman found at a home in East Sooke last week has been deemed non-criminal.

Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit and Sooke RCMP had been investigating the circumstances leading up to the woman’s death since May 4.

RCMP said investigators gathered evidence and spoke with family, friends and witnesses. Based on this, police have determined the death was not criminal. There is also no information to suggest any public safety concerns.

The investigation has been turned over to the BC Coroners Service. The woman’s name has not been released.
