Victoria police looking for new leads in 13-year-old missing person case

Victoria police are looking for new leads in the 13-year-old disappearance of a woman that continues to be investigated as a homicide.

Belinda Ann Cameron was last seen at the Shoppers Drug Mart at 870 Esquimalt Road on May 11, 2005. She was reported missing nearly a month later on June 5, 2005.

Police said Cameron’s disappearance is considered suspicious and investigators believe she was a the victim of foul play. Her disappearance is being investigated as a homicide.

At the time of her disappearance, Cameron was described by police as a 42-year-old Indigenous woman, 5’8″ (172 centimetres) with a medium to large build, weighing approximately 170 pounds (77 kilograms). She had long, dark brown hair that she wore parted in the middle and dark brown eyes.

Cameron would have turned 55 this year. Her daughters are now adults and police said they want to understand their mother’s disappearance.
