The shot clock and scoreboard told two different stories at the final horn Sunday between Cowichan Valley and Powell River in Duncan.

Adam Marcoux faced 63 shots and stopped all but two to help the Capitals earn a 2-2 tie against the Island Division-leading Kings.

The Kings out-shot the Capitals 63-27.

It is the second straight start for Marcoux in which he faced at least 50 shots.

He turned aside 47 shots last Wednesday in a 3-2 double-overtime loss in Nanaimo.

Nicholas Wilson scored his third goal of the season with 3:55 left in regulation time to tie the game for the Capitals Sunday.

Caleb Franklin scored the other Cowichan Valley goal with his first of the year nine minutes into the second period.
