Comox Valley police seek identity of robbery suspect with weapon

Comox Valley RCMP say a man robbed a business in the 2700-block of Cliffe Avenue in Courtenay at around 8:25 a.m. on Aug. 16.

Police are searching for a man accused of pulling out a weapon and robbing a store Courtenay.

At around 8:25 p.m. on Aug. 16, a man walked into a business in the 2700-block of Cliffe Avenue in Courtenay, pulled out an unidentified weapon, and then demanded money from the cash register, according to the Comox Valley RCMP.

Police are still searching for the suspect, who was seen running down an alley behind the business, which was not identified.

“Frontline members were assisted by Police Dog Services and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section at the scene,” said Const. Monika Terragni of the Comox Valley RCMP, adding. “They are still working to gather additional evidence and would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have seen the suspect before or after the robbery.”

The suspect is a 5’8″ Caucasian male, around 40 to 50 years old, with a light coloured moustache. He last seen was wearing sunglasses, a black hoodie with blue jeans and had his face covered by a black handkerchief with a white spider web design.
