A northern Vancouver Island community is seeking feedback for a new sign.

According to the Regional District of Mount Waddington, The Coal Harbour Local Community Commission is in the process of creating a new community sign for Coal Harbour and is looking for members of the public to vote on what the sign would say.

The commission has come up with two options for the new sign — Welcome to Coal Harbour – A Whale of a Town and Welcome to Coal Harbour — which members of the public can vote for online.

The deadline for voting is May 2.

Coal Harbour is located roughly 20 kilometres southwest of Port Hardy.
