Nanaimo RCMP said charges have been sworn against a 44-year-old woman following a stabbing incident at a local motel Wednesday.
Nancy Deann Sandman of Nanaimo appeared in Provincial Court Thursday and has been charged with assault and assault causing bodily harm.
The charges relate to a November 15 altercation that resulted in a 55-year-old man being taken to hospital for a non-life threatening injury.

Police say Sandman is also charged with failing to comply with an undertaking stemming from a previous unrelated incident.
Sandman is in police custody to await her next court appearance on Tuesday, November 21.
