Car accident closes Pat Bay Highway in both ways

UPDATE: The crash site was cleared and all lanes on the Pat Bay Highway were reopened at 6:30 p.m.

Central Saanich Police are saying a single motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Mt. Newton Cross Road and Pat Bay Highway is creating big back-ups for traffic.

Pat Bay Highway is closed in both directions until further notice, with police advising drivers to avoid the area.
