B.C. reports 10 COVID deaths and 517 people hospitalized

Health officials in B.C. are reporting 10 deaths due to COVID since the last update.

In the province, there are 517 people hospitalized with COVID, and 73 in intensive care.

There are 442 new confirmed cases in the province, 98 of which are in Island Health.

In Fraser Health there are 111 new confirmed cases, 105 in Interior Health, 69 in Vancouver Coastal Health, 59 in Northern Health, and none in people who normally reside outside Canada.

From Feb. 22-28, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 19.7 per cent of cases. From Feb. 15-28, they accounted for 34.6 per cent of hospitalizations.

Only 13.7 per cent of eligible people have not received a second dose of a COVID vaccine, of which 9.4 per cent have received no doses.

Since December 2020, the Province has administered 11,350,297 doses of COVID vaccines.
