Saanich Police and Saanich Fire are attending the scene of a car fire on the Patricia Bay Highway.
The car fire sparked in the southbound lanes of Highway 17, just before the Royal Oak off-ramp.
Police say that traffic delays are to be expected as fire crews continue to work on the burning vehicle.

Pictures and video captured from others passing by show a car on the shoulder fully engulfed in flames.
Aftermath images show a completely burnt car, blackened on the outside as a result of the fire.
At this time, it is unclear whether anyone was injured as a result of the blaze.
