Bullet holes in the back of a vehicle on Prideaux Street in Nanaimo.

A man has been arrested in connection to a shots fired incident in Nanaimo Saturday morning that left a vehicle with holes from what was likely a shotgun, on Prideaux Street.

Nanaimo RCMP says he was taken into custody after officers pulled over his vehicle that was reported in the area.

They say a loaded shotgun was found in his vehicle. Witnesses heard two shots in rapid succession shortly after 6 a.m.

Police tape has been taken down surrounding the damaged vehicle, just a few blocks away from Nanaimo RCMP Headquarters.

No one was injured as a result of the shots fired, anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.
