Another heat wave is building over British Columbia, and includes parts of Vancouver Island.
Affected areas now under a Heat Warning from Environment Canada are:
East Vancouver Island – Courtenay to Campbell River
East Vancouver Island – Duncan to Nanaimo
East Vancouver Island – Nanoose Bay to Fanny Bay
Inland Vancouver Island
With temperatures edging into the 30’s and overnight minimums remaining in the mid-teens, heat warning criteria should be surpassed in the coming days.
Seek a cool place such as a tree-shaded area, swimming pool, shower or bath, or air-conditioned spot like a public building.
Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks in a cool place.
