Additional games involving BCHL Junior A hockey teams on Vancouver Island have been postponed due to the novel coronavirus.

The Nanaimo Clippers announced Saturday that they are suspending all team activities for the next five days due to the BCHL’s health and safety protocols.

As a result, the Clippers’ game against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in Port Alberni on Jan. 8 has been postponed. Their game against the Victoria Grizzlies on Jan. 12 has also been postponed.

The Nanaimo Clippers are not the only BCHL team of late to have activities suspended as a result of the league’s coronavirus protocols.

The Cowichan Valley Capitals, Langley Rivermen and Penticton Vees have put all team activities on hold until Jan. 9 due to the virus, resulting in the postponement of numerous games.
