
It was a difficult situation for five ducklings Saturday afternoon. The ducklings had fallen into a storm drain on the side of a road in Saanich and had become trapped.
Saanich Fire Department chief Dan Wood said a citizen walking by alerted the fire department of the stuck ducklings, and Engine 1 “A” shift crew came to the rescue.

Cheif Wood said Captain Manhas and his team were able to rescue the ducklings from the storm drain before the rain came.
Saanich Fire Department says the mother duck was very happy.
