Island Health has added Shawnigan Lake School to its COVID-19 exposure list.

Island Health has added Shawnigan Lake School to its COVID-19 exposure list.

The exposures 0curred between Jan. 18-20, according to the health authority.

Island Health classifies an exposure event as “lab confirmed COVID-19 case(s) in the school during the period” when someone is infectious.

“In all of these cases, public health will investigate, interview the case and conduct contact tracing. If you do not receive a phone call or letter from public health, your child should continue to attend school,” reads a statement on the health authority’s website.

The addition comes on the same day Island Health added Woodwinds PASS Alternate School in Parksville to the exposure list.

Eleven schools on Vancouver Island have been added to the exposure list this year.
