A school in Parksville has experienced a COVID-19 exposure event.

According to School District 69, someone who last attended PASS/Woodwinds Alternate School on Jan. 22 tested positive for COVID-19. Island Health has added the school to its COVID-19 exposure and outbreak page.

The district says all members of the PASS/Woodwinds community will have received direct communication from the school regarding the exposure event.

“Island Health staff have initiated contact tracing to identify individuals needing to self-isolate or self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. All contact tracing is expected to be concluded by the end of day January 24, 2021, and all members of the PASS/Woodwinds community will have received direct communication from the school,” School District 69 said in a press release.

Non-school users of the Winchelsea facility will be contacted as well, the district added,

PASS/Woodwinds Alternate School is located at 140 Renz Road in Parksville.
