Woman drives car through front doors of Langford bank

RCMP say a driver who mistook the gas pedal for the break pedal crashed her vehicle into the front door of the TD-Canada Trust branch in Langford on Thursday morning.

One woman who was nearby recalls hearing a huge crash at the Westshore Town Centre around 8:15 a.m..

“We thought it was a two-car accident,” she said.

“But when my husband looked over, he saw the car in the bank.”

“When we arrived we found that a vehicle had gone through the front door of the TD bank,” said Capt. Brian Bell of the Langford Fire Department.

He says the driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was out of her car when they arrived and was not injured.

The bank was closed while a city building inspector and the property manager were called in to make sure the structure is sound.
