Capital Regional District officials say there did not appear to be a local fire after multiple reports emerged of smoke covering the West Shore Monday.
Langford Fire crews were called to search for a source after many saw and smelled the smoke early Monday evening.
However, firefighters later said there was no fire found in the area and BC Wildfire Service also did not report any new wildfires in the region.
