Workers and patrons of an Oak Bay business will now have to shake their hands dry after someone stole a Dyson hand dryer right out of the bathroom wall.
On Feb. 2, the Oak Bay Police Department responded to a theft in the 2100-block of Oak Bay Avenue, after a business reported that a Dyson Airblade V hand dryer was stolen from the bathroom by someone they didn’t know.
Police say an unknown person entered the customer washroom and pulled the Dyson Airblade V from the wall, leaving exposed wires.
The hand dryer retails for approximately $1,100 in Canada.
And it seems this business isn’t alone.
The complainant told police that a “neighbouring location” in Saanich also experienced a similar theft.
Police confirm this investigation is ongoing.
