Islanders truly looking to get away from the world can now purchase themselves a private island in the middle of Cowichan Lake.
The 2.25 acre property went up for sale in mid-September, and boasts a 1,500-square-foot home, a workshop, a dock and more.
The property, simply called “Island 7,” is listed at nearly $1.55 million, according to real estate website Colliers International Unique Properties.
The cabin on the island can accommodate up to 10 people and includes tall vaulted ceilings, an engineered septic system and even has cellphone service.

The cabin is described as a “West Coast” style home that has “functional off-grid systems” with great views of the lake, as well as a walkable waterfront and dock.
There’s also a separate shed and workshop on the island.
“One of only a handful of private islands on Lake Cowichan, Island 7 is an exceedingly private and accessible recreational retreat,” reads the listing.
