The Rugby Canada Women’s Sevens team defeated host country France 36-7 in the bronze medal game at the Clermont Sevens to wrap up the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series on a high note.
Overall, Canada finished third in the standings, marking the fifth straight top-3 finish for Canada on the tour dating back to the 2012-13 season.
This also marked Rugby Canada veteran Ashley Steacy’s final match, as she announced her retirement after the game. Fans, coaches and fellow players bid farewell to Steacy after the final whistle.
