A woman was found unconscious in the driver’s seat of a car parked in Langford and was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence, West Shore RCMP says.
When police responded to a report of a woman unconscious in the car at approximately 3:08 p.m., on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 near the 2800 block of West Shore Parkway, they saw signs that the woman was impaired.
They also said they found drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, a 2001 Toyota Corolla, which police said was stolen from Victoria on May 4.
Officers booked the 29-year-old female for possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of stolen property.
Police determined both the vehicle and licence plate attached were stolen and issued her violation tickets for driving without a licence and insurance.
The suspect was barred from driving for 24 hours for exhibiting symptoms of drug impairment while being in the care and control of a vehicle.
Meanwhile, she has been released from police custody by way of an appearance notice, and is expected to be charged for the criminal offences.
