A woman was allegedly grabbed at a park in Victoria last week after she rejected a man’s offer to get food with him, police say.

At approximately 6 p.m. on Nov. 3, a woman was at Pioneer Park when a man she didn’t know approached her and asked if she wanted to get something to eat with him.

According to the Victoria Police Department, the woman rejected the man’s offer and had begun walking away when the man allegedly grabbed her and demanded she come with him.

Fortunately, the woman was able to pull away from the man and seek safety and was not physically harmed.

Police are investigating the incident and say the suspect is described as a male in his 50s or 60s with a grey beard and grey hair. He is approximately 5’10 and was wearing a blue rain jacket at the time of the incident.

They are asking anyone who was near Pioneer Park in the 900-block of Quadra Street, between 6-6:15 p.m. on Nov. 3 to contact them at 250-995-7654 extension 1 or anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
