Woman drowns while crab fishing in Sooke

A woman drowned while crab fishing in Sooke on Halloween.

The incident happened at around 11 a.m. along the Sooke Marine Boardwalk near Ed Macgregor Park, according to British Columbia Emergency Health Services.

“Two paramedic units responded and one patient was transported to hospital,” BCEHS said in an e-mailed statement to CHEK News.

BC Coroners Service confirmed with CHEK News that the woman died and that they are investigating the death, but said they could not provide any additional other details about the incident.
