Woman dead after fire at apartment building in Port Hardy

A woman is dead after a fire broke out at an apartment building in Port Hardy.

Few details have been released by police but Port Hardy RCMP have confirmed the fire was on Granville Street.

The BC Coroners Service confirmed it was notified about the death. According to the BC Coroners Service, the woman was in her 60s.

“Our investigation will look to determine how, where, when and by what means she came to her unexpected death,” BC Coroners Service spokesperson Andy Watson said in a statement.
