Northern Vancouver Island can expect 90 kilometres an hour winds, with gusts up to 110 km/h overnight Saturday and Sunday morning.
Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for the area and says a low-pressure system approaching is responsible.
The winds will ease by Sunday afternoon.
They also warn that high winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
No other advisories or warnings have been issued for the remainder of Vancouver Island.
