A chicken ruffled some feathers in Cordova Bay around noon Sunday.
Saanich police received reports of the bird repeatedly crossing the road and disrupting traffic, in the 4600 Block of Cordova Bay Road.
Sgt. John Semkiw of the Saanich police says the fowl is at large and they still do not know why the chicken crossed the road.
“[Saanich animal control] said if they find the chicken, they will definitely ask it why,” he said. “[The chicken] is still at large… be careful in the area.”
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the bird can call, or cluck at, Saanich police.
