A walk with the dogs in Merville took an exciting turn for a local couple Tuesday morning.
Carla Pederson says she and her husband, Steve, took their two Golden Retrievers, Chloe and Gracie, to Williams Beach at Alders Beach Resort around 9:30 a.m.
A video Pederson posted to Facebook shows Chloe waiting for a bumper to be thrown into the water before the shot focuses further out into the water.
The Pedersons spotted humpback whales swimming nearby. Carla says there were five or six whales in the area for more than an hour.
Carla also says the experience was a first for her.
