Westshore Rebels president forced to resign amid health concerns

The Westshore Rebels junior football team was forced to make some organizational changes earlier this week.

The team released a statement yesterday saying their president Doug Kobayashi has resigned due to health concerns.

Kobayashi was named president prior to the 2016 season, and helped lead the team to its first Cullen Cup since 2003. Also, for the first time in many years, the team turned a profit under Kobayashi’s term as president.

Prior to his resignation, Kobayashi referred Rob Lervold to replace him as the new team president.

Lervold played junior football in Victoria in the late 80’s and says he’s looking forward to building on the success of 2016.
