Officers from West Shore RCMP are investigating reports of an assault in an apartment building in Colwood.
Const. Nancy Saggar, media relations officer, says they have received unconfirmed reports of a stabbing in the building, located in the 300-block of Wale Road but it is currently being investigated as an assault.
“We’re still discovering more information, but at this point right now, it’s unconfirmed reports of a stabbing,” Saggar said in an interview with CHEK News. “I can tell you we are investigating an assault between parties that know each other, this isn’t a stranger thing or anything like that.”
Saggar says the two parties at this point are believed to be friends, and that this is not believed to be a domestic situation.
She says there is one person with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are investigating the possibility that it is an assault with a weapon, but are not able at this time to determine whether a weapon was used.
