West Shore RCMP says foul play is suspected in the death of a male located by police inside a vehicle involved in a crash late Monday night.

Police say around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision near the 3100-block of Humpback Road in Langford.

A deceased male was found in the vehicle and police are investigating his death as a homicide, led by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit.

RCMP says no suspects have been arrested.

“The investigation is in its very early stages. Police will not be releasing the name of the victim at this time,” said West Shore RCMP Cst. Nancy Saggar.

“Investigators are seeking witnesses who may have been in the area of the 3100-block of Humpback Road the hours of 9 p.m. and midnight on January 20th to come forward and speak to police.”

Saggar says officers will be canvassing the neighbourhood and the public is asked to review any home security video surveillance and vehicle dashcam that may show suspicious activity.

Anyone with information regarding the homicide is asked to call the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit information line at 250-380-6211.
