West Shore RCMP are investigating a truck crash that took place in Langford over the Victoria Day long weekend.

Police say they responded to a report of a collision involving a single vehicle at approximately 1:30 p.m. on May 18.

The incident occurred near the intersection of McCallum Road and Cavalcade Terrace in Langford.

According to RCMP, officers found an unresponsive male drive inside a white F150 truck when arriving on the scene.

After assessing the area, police said they determined the F150 to be travelling on McCallum Road.

West Shore RCMP officers then saw an unresponsive male driver inside a F150 truck. Investigators determined the F150 was travelling south on McCallum Road – in the direction of Florence Lake Road – when it crossed into the oncoming lane and over the sidewalk.

The vehicle hit a maple tree before crashing into a rock wall on the front lawn of a home located in the 800-block of McCallum Road, according to a release from West Shore RCMP.

The driver was the sole occupant of the truck and was taken to the hospital. Police located a small quantity of narcotics inside the truck and are continuing their investigation to determine if impairment was a factor in this collision. Incredibly, no one other than the driver was injured in this collision, said Const. Nancy Saggar, West Shore RCMP media relations officer, in a release.

Based on a picture sent by police, the damage to the rock wall and the car appeared to be fairly significant.

The extent of the injuries sustained by the driver has not been revealed by the police at this time.
