UPDATE: West Shore RCMP says 13-year-old Alex Meikle has been found and is safe.

The youth was first reported missing on Tuesday.

 

ORIGINAL STORY: West Shore RCMP is asking for the public’s help as they try to find a missing 13-year-old boy.

Alex Meikle was last seen on Tuesday at 1 p.m. near his family’s home in the Veterans Memorial Park area of Langford.

Police say information suggests he is likely headed to the Tofino area.

Alternatively, he could be headed to Vancouver.

His family are very concerned for his health and well-being.

His mother says he has Dissociative Disorders, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, ADHD, and is on the wait list to be tested for Autism.

She says he needs medication.

Meikle is described as a Caucasian male, 6’2″ tall, weighing 132 lbs.

He has brown hair and green eyes.

The 13-year-old was believed to be wearing a green shirt, blue camo pants and carrying a large blue backpack.

 

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
