The family of a missing Oak Bay senior has created a Facebook page to help spread the word about her disappearance. Eighty-two-year-old Gladys Barman was last seen at about 10 am Thursday at the Petro Canada on West Saanich Road. She was fueling up her 2002 Forest Green Honda Accord. A concerned neighbour had already alerted police after Gladys failed to deliver newspapers earlier that day.

“She has gone way off her routines, her normal patterns, we we are just dumbfounded,” says her son Neil Barman. “Where she could possibly be and especially with the searching that we’ve done and the awareness that has been out there. So far we can’t imagine where she is.”

Barman is about 5’8″, 190 pounds with grey hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a teal blue windbreaker and jeans. She was driving a 2002 Forest Green Honda Accord with B.C. plate 940 RGA.

“We’re really counting on British Columbians to find her or her vehicle,” says Oak Bay Police Chief Ray Bernoties.

Barman’s family says she has had some cognitive decline and memory loss in recent weeks.

Oak Bay Police provided pictures of 82-year-old Gladys Barman, her green Honda Accord and her last confirmed sighting at a gas station last Thursday on West Saanich Road.
