Weather forces CFB Esquimalt to remain closed on Tuesday

CFB Esquimalt will remain closed for a second straight day on Tuesday.

Base Commander Captain (Navy) Jason Boyd made the announcement on Monday night.

“Due to the on-going inclement weather, I have made the decision to keep the base closed tomorrow in the interest of safety for our personnel and members of the community.”

Essential personnel such as Search and Rescue, Fire Services, Military Police and support to RCN ships at home and at sea continues.

“I encourage all other members of the Defence Team to help out their neighbours and keep an eye out for those who may need help weathering the storm,” writes Capt. Boyd.
