WATCH: Victoria MMA star Sarah Kaufman defeated German Katharina Lehner at Invicta FC 29 in Kansas City, Missouri last night, to become the Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion.
After a slew of injuries and back-to-back losses in the UFC in 2015, Kaufman took a break from competition, but since returning, she’s been on top of her game. Thanks to a deeper background in wrestling and other martial arts, Kaufman has become a more well-rounded fighter, and a third round submission over Lehner is a prime example, with the rear naked choke being Kaufman’s first ever submission victory. Kaufman joins Brazilian star Cris Cyborg as the only women to capture both the Strikeforce and Invicta FC bantamweight championships.
