A Victoria woman’s idea to poke a bit of fun at White House press secretary Sean Spicer is gaining traction around the globe.

Lisa Kadonaga, who is a sessional instructor at the University of Victoria, posted on her Facebook page last week that she had created a cutout called ‘Garden Spicer’

“Presenting the “Garden Spicer”,” Kadonaga said in the post.

“Here’s something I made this afternoon. Now you too can have the White House press secretary in — or rather, “among”* — the bushes in your yard. And hey, if you’re concerned that when exposed to the outdoors, the image will run ….no worries, that’s exactly what Sean Spicer does, so it’s totally authentic!”

The cutout was inspired by a report last week that White House press secretary Sean Spicer was spotted hiding in the bushes from reporters, while another White House staffer conducted interviews, after Donald Trump fired FBI director James Comey on Thursday.

The report was later corrected to say Spicer was “among” the bushes not “in” in the bushes.

The moment spawned several memes on Twitter and Facebook and was also featured in a sketch where Melissa McCarthy returned to role of Spicer on Saturday Night Live.

Kadonga uploaded her idea, along with photos for download, on Facebook. The idea has been shared more than 109,000 times and has spawned its own hashtag on Twitter called #gardenspicer.

Photos of the cutout have shown up in Seattle, Washington D.C., and Germany, among others.
