The string of BCLC prize winners continues to grow on Vancouver Island after a Victoria woman walked away with $50,000 from a BC Mountains Scratch & Win ticket.

Kulvinder Bains says she is feeling nothing short of fantastic after discovering she had purchased a winning ticket.

Bains had returned home after purchasing the Scratch & Win ticket from Pharmasave, located on Royal Oak Drive when she scratched it and found out she won the money.

“I didn’t really believe it at first,” she recalled. “I was in disbelief!”

Bains said one of the first things she did was immediately share the news with her daughter, who was also ecstatic upon finding out.

“I think she was more excited than I was,” Bains exclaimed.

According to the BC Lottery Corporation, Bains plans to put her prize towards a new car.

Bains is just the most recent winner in a string of successful Vancouver Island residents when playing BCLC games.

Earlier this week, a Victoria man earned $60,000 from playing a Keno ticket he purchased at the Fairway Market on Jacklin Road.

Also, a resident from Bowser, Paul Lambert, says he won $25,000 twice in a row playing Keno.

Lambert said he played the same numbers in the same pub only a few weeks apart.
