The challenge of finding a perfect restaurant for a date is never an easy one, but one Victoria restaurant makes a list its hoped will make it a little easier.
Online restaurant reservation giant OpenTable compiled the 50 Best Restaurants for a Date in Canada using reviews by diners collected from September 1, 2018 to August 31, 2019.
OLO on Fisgard Street in Victoria’s Chinatown features on the list.
The farm-to-table eatery is among eight B.C. restaurants to make the grade including six in Vancouver and one in Kelowna.
The Keg, with locations across Canada including in Victoria and Nanaimo, is also listed among the Top 50.
Ontario leads the way with 34, followed by Alberta with 11.
OpenTable says 86 per cent of Canadians surveyed say they feel some level of stress when finding a restaurant reservation for a date.
It says it sorted and scored a year’s worth of diner reviews for an overall rating, followed by the sum of tags spanning “GoodForDates” or “Good for a Date” as a percentage of total reviews.
