Victoria Police seek witnesses after cyclist struck by vehicle

Victoria Police are seeking witnesses and information after a cyclist was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday morning.

Police say that the incident took place at approximately 7:45 a.m. on November 24, near the intersection of Topaz Avenue and Graham Street in Victoria.

According to police, the cyclist was travelling southbound on Graham Street, crossing Topaz Avenue, when a driver travelling westbound on Topaz Avenue struck the cyclist.

VicPD notes that the man riding the bicycle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and needed to be transported to the hospital by BC Emergency Health Services.

Following the incident, the man driving the vehicle left the scene before police could arrive.

VicPD Traffic officers are continuing the investigation and are asking anyone with information or video of the incident to contact police.

The driver and vehicle involved in this incident have not been identified at this time, adds VicPD.

The vehicle is described as a small grey car, possibly a hatchback, and was last seen continuing westbound on Topaz Avenue from the scene of the collision.
