Victoria police searching for suspect with skateboard after assault with weapon

Victoria police said they are looking for a man with a skateboard after a report of an assault involving a weapon on Douglas Street.

Police tweeted that they were responding to the incident at around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, the victim of the alleged assault called 911 and when police arrived in the 2600-block of Douglas Street, they found the victim with non-life-threatening injuries. Bystanders were helping the victim out and the victim was taken to hospital.

Police said the alleged assault was originally reported to have occurred on Ross Lane but officers later confirmed it was on Douglas Street.

The male suspect is described by police as 5’2,” with a medium build, a blue top, brown pants and carrying a red skateboard. Police said he fled the area and was last seen in the 700 block of Hillside Avenue.

Anyone who sees the suspect is asked to call 911. Police have not released any more details about the alleged assault.
